#ugh and so here’s the thing #you’ve got this character and he’s your average hyperactive teenager #he’s second string on the sports team #he talks too fast and makes nerdy pop culture references #he lusts after the unattainable beautiful popular girl even though he knows it’ll never happen #it’s nothing you haven’t seen a billion times over #except #despite all this he actually cares about the people around him #legitimately cares about them #and acts on that caring #even though he gets distracted in tests and writes essays on inappropriate subjects #when it matters he can get things done #he prioritizes his family and his friends and hell complete strangers over his petty teenage worries#when he needs to he steps up his game and acts like an adult #ugh
